Tobii and MSI signs memorandum of understanding for the development of eye tracking in gaming PCs

STOCKHOLM – May 29, 2015 – Tobii AB (Nasdaq Stockholm: TOBII) and Micro-Star International Co. Ltd. (MSI) have signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation on integration of Tobii's world-leading eye tracking technology in MSI's gaming notebooks.

The memorandum of understanding describes the framework for cooperation between Tobii and MSI intended to stimulate the development of eye tracking in computer games, as well as to explore the possibility to launch gaming computers with integrated eye tracking to market.

Tobii and MSI have already initiated the collaboration, and the first tangible result is a concept gaming notebook that will be displayed by MSI at the Computex trade show in Taipei on June 2-6.

– We are still in a very early stage in the development of the market for eye tracking in gaming. We expect that it will require much time and investment before we reach volumes in this segment, but in the long term there is an exciting opportunity for Tobii in gaming, said Henrik Eskilsson, CEO of Tobii.

The Taiwanese company MSI is a world-leading manufacturer of gaming notebooks and desktop computers, and has a strong position in computer gaming.
