Tobii wins red dot design award with eye tracking glasses

**Stockholm, Sweden, April 11, 2011 – Tobii Glasses, a head-mounted eye tracker from Tobii Technology, has won the prestigious red dot design award, one of the most renowned international product design competitions. Tobii Glasses look and feel like a regular pair of glasses and are appreciated for their discreet, ultra-lightweight design that ensures natural behavior in real-world research.

Introduced in 2010, the Tobii Glasses Eye Tracker is an unobtrusive and efficient mobile eye tracker that allows users to walk around freely while their gaze is being recorded. This is crucial to researchers who study behavior and attention in real-world situations, whether browsing in stores, trying out a new product or reading an advertisement.

Tobii Glasses was recognized for its superior design quality by the red dot jury’s panel of highly respected experts. Designers and companies from 60 countries entered 4,433 products in the competition this year.

Tom Englund, VP Analysis Solutions at Tobii Technology says, “Design is an important aspect of any product, but for a mobile eye tracker such as Tobii Glasses it is even more critical as the product must be designed in a way that allows the test subject to act naturally. With this in mind, we are extremely honored to receive the red dot product design award.”

The red dot awards ceremony will take place in Essen, Germany on July 4, 2011.
